The x-rays have revealed something. The nurse called it degenerative disc disease, otherwise known as arthritis. She said I should keep taking the muscle relaxers and putting ice on my back and if it’s not better in 2 weeks I need to call and make another appointment. I’m still not sure how muscle relaxers (which don’t really work on me anyway) are supposed to help a joint issue, but what the fuck do I know.
I did take one of the pills last night before bed and I seemed to sleep a little better. I still woke up very stiff and sore, but I guess that’s to be expected. Might just have to try getting out of bed a little earlier so I have time to stretch before getting ready for work.
The mood is doing alright I guess. I managed to get a few things done yesterday while I was at home, and that always helps. I guess I just have to wait and see how Josh handles the news about my back. His reaction will kind of dictate how I handle it.
I feel alright today I guess. I’ve been having a hard time concentrating so far, but I’m not entirely sure what’s causing it. I organized a couple of my cupboards at work this morning thinking that might help, but not so much. I’ve got a bunch of things I could be working on right now, just none of them really seem that appealing. There’s some things I really need to get done, but I have to wait for my boss to do a final edit before publication and she’s tied up in meetings.
Found out this morning that my favorite band, Bowling for Soup, is coming to town for a concert next month. It’s a great little venue and the tickets are cheap ($21). The only problem is the show is on a Thursday night and I have to teach the next morning. Gonna have to talk to Josh later and see what he thinks. They put on an awesome show and it’s well worth the ticket price. I saw them 2 years ago with Gemma and we had a great time.
