Getting myself organized for my 3 day weekend, so bear with me…
Those are the earrings I talked about making last week and the ID bracelet that needed to be fixed. Both are done. The earrings are very simple but I like them. The bracelet is awesome. I ordered the plate with my allergies engraved on the back and my name and the little medical alert symbol on the front. Then I went to a jewelry store and got one of the bracelet chains for a swanky charm bracelet. Over the last 2 years I’ve filled it with treasures. Some of those beads are really expensive and some really cheap. It’s very me.
I revised my to do list this morning and it’s looking pretty manageable – only 10 things. I know I won’t be able to get to all of it today as some of it requires Josh’s help, but I should be able to get a fair amount done. That makes me happy.
What does not make me happy is the almost complete lack of progress I made on last week’s goals. Only one got completed, though I did try to make some progress on others. I still need to do the things I didn’t get done, but I’m not sure I really want to just list those things again as this week’s goals. Let me give it a try…
- Finish the scarf for the kid. I’ve got several other projects I want to start now but I don’t feel like it would be right to leave that fucking scarf just hanging. This one gets recycled.
- Finish my to do list. It’s manageable now, so I stand a much better chance at accomplishing this. This one also gets recycled.
- Wake up when the (NEW) alarm clock goes off every work day. I finally figured out with my new phone how to set an alarm. I obviously did it right cuz it went off this morning. I need to be getting up a little earlier to make sure I have time to stretch.
I think that’s all I’m going to try for now.
I know I’ve mentioned before that I generally don’t like to carry a purse. So true. And I hate shopping for new purses. Last time I decided it was time for a change I went big. Literally. I went from carrying one of those small organizer style purses to carrying this…
It’s HUGE. The reason I made such a drastic switch was because I hated having to carry a purse and a bag to work every day. This purse is large enough to hold all of the normal purse stuff plus most of what I need for your average work day. On the weekends, or when I don’t feel like toting that around, I simply take a tiny card carrier thing out of my billfold which contains my ID and debit cards and stash that in my pocket. Purse problem solved. The only thing I don’t like about this purse is that it was a joint crafting effort between me and my evil step-grandmother. V is an interesting lady, but she is beyond mental. It’s a story for another day, just trust me when I say that the label of evil truly suits her.
I’m definitely feeling the crafting bug hitting again, hence the reason I want to finish that damn scarf. I want to move on to bigger and better things. I really cannot wait until my vacation next month so I can have some uninterrupted time to relax and knit. I found quite possibly the most AWESOME vest pattern yesterday that I simply have to make. It’s called Hanne from Knitty.com. All garter stitch, all one piece, stripes – how much more perfect can you get? I’m ordering the yarn – lime green and purple, of course – sometime this weekend after I take my birthday money to the bank. So excited to start this I could SQUEE!!!
I did make a decision about the Bowling for Soup concert – we’re going. I talked to my boss and she agreed to let me move the class to Friday afternoon so that I can sleep in a little. We hadn’t advertised it yet so I didn’t think it would be an issue. I ordered the tickets the other day. YIPPEE!!!
I suppose since this is kind of a mental health blog that I should give you an update on the moods. Not bad lately. Things with Josh seem to be going pretty well. We haven’t had any fights for awhile and in general the vibe around here has been pretty mellow. He’s taking me out to dinner tonight for an early birthday celebration. We’re going to Kona Grill, one of my favs. I’m kind of looking forward to the opportunity to spiff up.
Ok kids, I think I’m off to bathe and start the laundry. Not sure if I’ll pop in again over the weekend or not. Hope the weather is nice where you are and that your own to do list isn’t impossible. I leave you with gratuitous pussy…
…cat, that is.
