We had someone come in for help yesterday asking if this (our teaching room) was Oz. I thought it was hilarious. He was a very pleasant man and we had a lovely time together. Yes kids, welcome to Oz. I just wish the bricks weren’t yellow from someone constantly pissing on them.
Things have returned to what passes as normal around here. Josh and I talked and managed to get life straightened back out. We had a delicious dinner that Mom made and then equally delicious chocolate raspberry milkshakes that I made. And then we properly made up. I slept better last night than I have slept in ages. Needless to say, I’m feeling fairly good this morning. If I can just get through today everything should be alright again.
This morning I actually got up early enough that I was able to spend a few minutes working on the shrug. I got the sleeve worked to the first set of decreases, which is good. I didn’t bring it with me today as I’m fairly certain I won’t get any free time to do that sort of thing, but I’m hoping to be able to finish it this weekend and wear it on Monday. It’s looking great and I’m really pleased with how it’s turning out. I’m thinking maybe I can get Josh to do a photo shoot with me on Sunday. I will for sure post the pics and pattern as soon as I can. This one is a keeper.
I still haven’t gotten around to making that list of projects in my notebook, so I thought maybe I’d do it here…
- Hanne Vest – me
- second mitten – Josh
- socks – Mom, Josh, me (I have enough sock yarn to make close to 15 pairs for all of us combined, maybe more)
- felted tote bag – me
- sweater for my niece’s doll (will probably start that tonight)
- butterfly mobiles
- cabled mitts – me (different color, different pattern)
- “shrug” sweater (like the striped wool one I made in the fall just with different yarn and hopefully more like a full sweater and not a cropped bolero – will use yarn that’s been sitting in the stash for more than 7 years!)
That should keep me busy until it’s time to start working on christmas presents again. I don’t have any ideas yet about what to make everyone this year, but I’ve got plenty of time.
My niece is coming over tonight, hence the doll sweater. She asked my mom if she could look through all of my yarn and pick what she wants. I told Mom that she can, she just can’t look through the sock yarn or the expensive part of the stash. That leaves 3 boxes of cotton, wool, and acrylic she can paw through. I’m sure there’s something in there that will suit her.
So many projects, only 2 hands to work with…
The mood is back to being reasonable. Good sleep and little good nookie will do that for you I guess.
I’m actually kind of feeling in a generous mood. Maybe I’ll do a little contest of sorts. Anyone interested? I’ll offer up a hand made goodie basket for the winner. What shall we do…
How about this – leave me a comment with the cheesiest pick up line you’ve ever used or had used on you. The absolute cheesiest wins some kind of hand made goodness from me. I’ll leave the contest open until Monday morning.
Oh yippee, this sounds like fun!
