Josh came through on the gifts. In addition to the flowers and the blouse he got me a very sweet card, a royal blue cardigan, and a big candle. He really is very good at picking out gifts. My bestie got me the oil burner and a canister of the loveliest jasmine green tea. The party was wonderful and we all had a really nice time.
Yesterday morning we got up and showered and then Mom and I went to breakfast. It totally sucked. On the way home we stopped and got Josh McDonald’s. His breakfast was way better than mine. After that I went to the bank and then collected my friend. We went to the yarn shop straightaway and got a personalized tour of the entire shop by the owner. He wanted to make sure I got precisely the right yarn for my sweater. I selected 7 skeins of Malabrigo Rios in the Solis colorway. This yarn is phenomenal – it’s pure Merino wool that’s been hand dyed. Truly beautiful. Probably the best part was that I had more than enough on my gift certificate from Mom to get all 7 skeins plus 3 buttons and a tin of hand cream and I still had money left over.
After the yarn shop we went to Olive Garden for appetizers and dessert – totally my kind of lunch. Then it was off to Lane Bryant to get some clothes. I got a pair of black dress slacks, purple corduroy slacks, and funky purple floral pj pants for less than $40. Total score. I dropped her back off at home and then came back here to Josh. He had washed the bed sheets in the morning so he helped me make the bed and we talked for a bit. We finally ended up having sex after a bit of a miscommunication. It was alright.
We had to run to the grocery to get some ingredients for making summer sausage. Josh’s friend Jeremy is a hunter and he had brought me some deer burger Friday night that I wanted to make into sausage. It’s chilling right now, I’ll bake it later today. Josh insisted on getting beer. He proceeded to drink the entire 6 pack by himself and fall asleep in the chair in the sunroom. That’s the first time I’ve had to collect him in a long time. Right now I’m just waiting for him to wake up so I can yell at him.
We had talked about going out for breakfast and then going to the bookstore together but I’m not so sure I really want to do anything with him. The more he tells me things are going to change the more they really stay the same. It’s getting old.
