What a day…

In answer to AZ Gringa’s comment – no, not at all weird that you thought of the Beck song. The only thing weird is that I didn’t think of it first.

Mom is doing fine. They didn’t have trouble finding a vein for the IV, the doc said a little prayer with her that things would go smoothly, she got to request the “good” lube, and they didn’t find anything they shouldn’t. So yay. We were out of the hospital by 9:30am and enjoying brunch.

Over the course of today we’ve been to Charming Charlie’s (ladies, if you don’t have one where you live I am ever so sorry), Sam’s Club, a clock shop to get a battery replaced, and a beauty supply warehouse (which was actually not quite twice the size of my personal office – “warehouse” my ass). Between dropping off supplies and heading to the clock shop I decided I didn’t need my entire purse so I just nicked my ID/card sleeve thing out of my billfold and slipped it in my pocket.

And then couldn’t find it when we got to the beauty supply place.

Our only other stop was to get Mom a snack, but I panicked the entire way home. I’ve had terrible luck with debit cards in the last 12 months or so and I was seriously dreading having to call the bank to cancel these and order new ones. And then…

  1. We live in a very safe neighborhood.
  2. I am a dumbass.

Josh just left to fetch dinner. I think I’ll eat and then go to bed. You know, so I can’t accidentally poke myself in the eye or something.
