Given how ridiculously busy I was last week, I feel really good about the progress I was able to make. It really does help to make these goals easy enough to attain, but something that will require some concerted effort. I’m going to start something a little new this week – Established Goals. This will be goals from previous weeks that I’ve been able to achieve and want to become part of my permanent routine, like keeping up with my med management or financial goals (when I feel like I’m ready to tackle those).
If you’re at the place where you feel like making some goals and having a bit of accountability makes sense for you, join us. This week’s theme deals with finding the good in life, an idea that is near and dear to my heart.
From last week:
- Tidy up the living space and make the bed every morning before leaving.
- Take my morning pills every day.
- Spend time doing creative shit at least three times this week.
Progress:
- The only morning this didn’t happen was Thursday and that was because I wasn’t here.
- DONE!
- I did the happy alien drawing for Juls and then on Sunday did a bit of rearranging of pretties/redecorating in our living space, which I think counts. But that was really only twice as far as I’m concerned. Not bad, but I’m going to try again.
The next set of goals:
- Spend time doing something creative at least 3 times this week.
- Start scanning our photo prints.
- Clean up my files in Dropbox.
- Try to find one good thing which has happened each day, make a note of them, and share with you next week.
Established Goals for every week:
- Take pills every morning.
- Make bed and tidy living space.

It really sounds like it’s working well for you. I might give this a go myself (not on the blogging front though-I think that might end up being one too many commitments!) I think there’s definitely something in this ‘little steps’ approach xx

I know it’s not for everyone, but it does seem to be helping me. And hey, the price is right! ๐

I like these goals. Much better than “Clean entire house before CPS comes” which just is never gonna happen in this lifetime. I like the idea of drawing happy aliens better. Oh, did you know that making your bed encourages dust mite parties? I read about this and that is totally why I don’t make my bed.

I try to do my chores every week so that it doesn’t add up and then kick my ass. It sounds strange perhaps, but it really does go faster if you just spend a few hours on the weekend tackling that shit.
I was thinking about drawing something earlier, but then I got distracted by this goddamn WORK bullshit.

Thanks! I know it won’t make sense for everyone, but some of the things I’m doing I’d really like to have as regular habits. I figure this is a reasonable way to go about that. ๐

That’s hilarious – I was actually thinking of trying to draw Evie today after the great “let’s pee on Mama” incident of ’14. You’re on! And I love the idea of the cartoon challenge.

Well, if I’m going to have it as part of my “3 creative things this week” goal for BR, I’ll need to get it done by Sunday evening. I’m thinking since Josh is at school tonight, and Evie is mostly sitting still to serve as my model, I might do mine tonight. I can certainly wait to post it until a day that’s more to your liking.

Sounds totally fair. ๐ Trying to decide what else “creative” I should do. I do have a washcloth started for Mer, and I would count that. I could drag out my bead bucket and see if I could make myself a pair of earrings or something. Or I could finally iron the sugar skull transfer on a t-shirt. Too many choices…

Oh Sugar skull transfer all the way!! I just got a new Pal Frank skull and crossbones lunchbag, belated birthday present, and I love it lol
I’m thinking of test driving the cartoon thing. I should be in bed. I’m blaming you! lol

I am totally a bad influence. ๐ Yeah, I think the skull shirt will be on tap this week. Tonight I’m going to try to do the cat pic and make sure I’ve got my posts lined up for the rest of the week.
