Here are this week’s Share Your World questions from Cee! Holy buckets, these really made me think hard this week. You should totally try this if you haven’t already, it’s great fun.
What was the last time you went to a new place?
I don’t know if this counts as new, but I had to go to the campus bookstore the first week of January to pick up my books. I normally order them online from Amazon but this time the price at the bookstore was cheaper AND they let me pick up in the store and not pay shipping. The last time I was down there was as an undergrad in the 90s and they’ve totally remodeled since. So that counts, right?
If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels, other? And what type of genre would you prefer?
I used to write poetry, oodles and oodles of really shitty poetry. Now I tend to write almost exclusively non-fiction, mostly of the personal variety. I also write a fair bit of academic crap because of being in school.
Out of your five senses (touch, taste, sight, smell, hearing) which is your favorite?
I worry most about losing my sight. I think I could probably be ok without smell or taste. I can’t imagine not being able to feel Evie’s silky fur or hear her purr. Wow, how’s that for a total non-answer? I guess I’d have to say that touch tops my list because I rely on it so much.
If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?
I’m not sure if I can answer this one. Satisfaction is such a subjective thing. What is satisfying to me would likely drive someone else ’round the bend. Now, if I change this slightly to be “how many would SAY they are leading satisfying lives” then I’d be able to answer. And, sadly, I’d say less than half.
