easily distracted

clutter, distractions, off the grid, removing distractions, simplifying

I’m still busier than a one-armed paper hanger, but I had a brief bit of time to write up a few things. Hopefully y’all won’t have to be entirely lonely for too much longer.

As you may know, I turn off all of my electronics at 8pm so that I can take my meds and hopefully be asleep by 10pm. It took some time to adjust to this kind of routine, especially since I’m coming up on my 39th birthday, not my 99th birthday. But I’ve found that keeping that piece of good sleep hygiene going helps not only with my sleeping, but it also provides built-in time at the end of my day to do things that I don’t seem as willing to make time for earlier in the day. I’ve also realized that I really rather enjoy being “off the grid” and unavailable to everyone but Mom and Josh for that last piece of the day.

So then I came across this article (http://www.becomingminimalist.com/distraction-less/) about distractions and knew that I had to share it with y’all. Some of these things I was already doing, some of them I’m doing now, and a few I just don’t know if I can do. But it’s an interesting read and Joshua Becker always has suggestions that are thought provoking at the very least.

What I found most interesting about the article is that he combined suggestions for a little of everything, from time management strategies, to things I wouldn’t have thought of, to physical clutter. It’s a pretty quick read and I encourage you to find a few minutes to take a look.

My new favorite quote…
